Since whatsapp offers a way to know that the messages were received to the recipient, no one can be saved from claiming that they did not read the chat, since everything can be confirmed in the application.
There is a trick to know what time your message was delivered and what time it was read.
What do the checks mean in conversations?
Before knowing how you can do it, you must remember how the signaling of each message sent works:
– A gray check means that the message was sent successfully and is waiting to be delivered.
– Two gray checks means that the message was delivered to the recipient’s device: The message has been sent and delivered successfully.
– Two checks in blue color means that the recipient has already read the message.
How can you get information from the message?
Each message gives you the option to view its information, such as the time it was delivered, read or played by the recipient.
So you can do it:
1. Open the chat.
2. Touch and hold the message you want to get details about if it has already been read.
3. Press the three dots that appear on the right side.
You will be able to know each step of your message, including how long they left you in “seen” and the exact time it was received by the recipient.
If you follow the steps and you cannot verify the confirmations, the recipient has deactivated this function, you are no longer in their contacts or the person does not have internet.
How to disable read receipts
If you don’t want your contacts to be able to see whether or not you’ve read the messages, then you’ll need to disable read receipts from your device.
These are the steps:
1. Access the menu “More options”By pressing the three-dot icon.
2. Go to Settings- Account- Privacy.
3. Select the “Read Receipts” option.
Note that the option does not disable read receipts for group chats, or play receipts for voice messages.
