How Lidia Poët’s Law 2 ends, the Netflix series with Matilde De Angelis

The second season of The Law by Lidia Poët ends with the protagonist who, after having greeted Jacopo at the station with a passionate kiss, is preparing to live a new life, alone.

As actually happened to the real Lidia Poët who, convinced of the importance of female independence, she never married or had children.

The beautiful Turin of the late 19th century is the backdrop to one season characterized by the fight for women’s rights which always saw the lawyer played by Matilde De Angelis at the forefront. Committed to solving crime cases in every episode, one also linked to the activity of a serial killer collaborating with Professor Lombroso, he also manages to shed light on the murder of his dear friend Attila Brusaferrojournalist and companion of Jacopo (Eduardo Scarpetta) who, during a journalistic investigation, becomes aware of an attempted coup d’état, orchestrated by all political parties.

The plot is hatched by, among others, the knight Iugara and the senator Cravero (Paolo Briguglia). The latter had made sure that Lidia’s brother, Enrico (Pier Luigi Pasino), could become a deputy of the Kingdom. Then counting on making an attempt on his life and that of the head of government, De Pretis.

Therefore, Lidia continues her battle to ensure that women and men are treated equally. At her side, the new prosecutor of the Kingdom, Pierluigi Fourneau (Andrea Saurino), who falls in love with her. For Lidia’s love, he decides to undergo delicate surgery to remove a brain tumor.

At the Poët house, things begin to change. Enrico, elected deputy and increasingly convinced that his sister’s requests are right, is ready to move to Rome. With the hope that Cravero’s wife (Valentina Cervi) will help him in his new political profession, unaware of her husband’s plots and a sincere admirer of Enrico and Lidia.

Even Enrico’s icy wife, Teresa (Sara Ferraro), discovers how important it is for a woman to follow her dreams and her vocation. And he does so by supporting his daughter Marianna (Sinéad Thornhill) who, after breaking off her engagement with a Turin nobleman, and having finally ended her relationship with her ex Lorenzo, decides to live alone.
