In the season 17 episode of Grey’s Anatomy broadcast on May 6, Jackson Avery was reunited with his former love and mother of his daughter Harriet who lives in Seattle with her husband Matthew (Justin Bruening), Dr. April Kepner, played by Sarah Drew. If the fans were in joy, they were much less in discovering that Jesse Williams in turn left the series in the episode scheduled for May 20, two weeks before the final scheduled for June 3 across the Atlantic. Jackson Avery (Jesse Williams who released a behind-the-scenes video of this highly anticipated comeback) therefore announced to April her decision to take over the family foundation and make a change, “in creating true racial equity in medicine“but that implied that he moved to Boston and he wanted April, Matthew and Harriet to follow him there so that he could be there for his daughter. If April was skeptical at first, then she supported him and mostly announced that she was separated from Matthew, and finally agreed to accompany him to Boston with their daughter.
Meredith Gray and Jackson Avery reunited in Grey’s Anatomy
The episode of this Thursday, May 20 of Grey’s Anatomy was therefore devoted to the last day of Jackson Avery to the hospital. After handing in his resignation to Bailey (Chandra Wilson), he was able to say goodbye to Jo (Camilla Luddington). He then broke the news to a healthy Meredith (Ellen Pompeo who took her revenge), who then realized she was the last man in their boarding class. All the others being dead or gone. “You’re going to make them suffer, Avery”, says Meredith. “Thanks for showing me how”Jackson answers.
Tom Koracick begs Jackson Avery in Grey’s Anatomy
Jackson then meets Tom Koracick (Greg Germann), who begs him to give him a job. As Tom explains, he now wants to help make the world a better place. “I want to be an ally”, tells the doctor to Jackson Avery. Eventually, Jackson agreed that he would come and work for the foundation. Jackson Avery’s final scene in Grey’s Anatomy It will be very simple in the end: he walks past the hospital one last time and then leaves to return home to Boston. Images of her wonderful moments spent in Grey’s Anatomy are then broadcast.
