The TV coverage of the Tipsport extraliga continues in a similar model as last season. O2 TV Sport, the main broadcaster, will also offer up to 404 live broadcasts including the playoffs. As in the previous year, the fans will not miss any matches, and will also see other programs. The ČT Sport channel, which O2 TV customers have in all tariffs, will offer a maximum of 36 transmissions.
Experienced commentators, proven experts, including the great Patrik Eliáš, two-time winner of the Stanley Cup. In addition, a documentary about Třinec or a series about all clubs. O2 TV Sport wants to slightly raise the level of coverage of the elite competition.
“All matches will be accompanied by the voice of an experienced commentary team, which we have improved even more for the new season. We ensure 100% performance and readiness in all transmissions. We value the feedback from the viewers and we continuously take it into account,” said Tomáš Zetek, head of hockey editorial at O2 TV Sport.
From the entire Tipsport extra league season, the station broadcasts 341 matches in the regular season, more than 60 in the playoffs as well.
At the start of the season, viewers can take advantage of the offer on the O2 TV Stríbrná tariff, in which they can find the best sports content including the Tipsport extra league, Chance League, UEFA Champions League, ATP tennis circuit or even F1 races. If activated before the end of September, the fan will save up to 1,200 crowns for the entire season.
The station focuses not only on top live broadcasts, but also on interesting match studies, which will focus on game days on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. “We are preparing updated graphics and content news. We want every fan to get the best possible service. We will broadcast all our game days with a studio, no matter what day or stadium it is,” revealed Marek Kindernay, executive director of O2 TV Sport.
In addition, the television station plans to broadcast each club’s home match at least once at the beginning of the season. “Regardless of attractiveness or development in the table, we want to give the clubs space to present themselves. In the very first month, we will deploy up to eleven extra league teams at home stadiums, the rest will follow in the following weeks,” says Zetek.
According to station managers, viewers are increasingly interested in hockey on O2 TV. “Last season we recorded record numbers, for example the decisive final playoff match between Pardubice and Třinec was not missed by 585,000 spectators,” added Kindernay.
As for other shows, the Bombs on Ice hockey show continues. The moderator duo Richard Tesař and Jakub Koreis will be glossing over the happenings at the ice rinks together with guests every Wednesday.
A completely new project of the station O2 TV Sport is a full-length documentary, which is created in cooperation with the club HC Oceláři Třinec. The unique film will remind not only the beginning of the golden era of the Steelers, but also the last unrepeatable season full of historical moments and twists. The authors take the viewer behind the scenes of the club and behind the otherwise closed doors of the A-team cabin right during the match. “The television premiere is planned around Christmas,” says David Solnař, spokesman for O2 TV Sport.
In addition to the documentary, viewers can look forward to a regular series called Hockey Tour. He will gradually map the events in all clubs of the extra league. There will be up-to-date information, interesting match events, non-traditional reports and interviews. Or even a behind-the-scenes look at club life. The first part of the Hockey Tour – Knights of Kladno will premiere on Monday, December 2.
The highlight of the autumn part will be the expected Hockey Games, which will offer an unconventional open-air spectacle on the Letenská plain on the first Advent weekend.
