In an interview with Chelsea’s official website, Ziyech said his improvement came after manager Thomas Tuchel changed the system in January 2021. “He has a clear idea of what he wants, the way we want to play,” he said, praising the merits of his coach.
And to add: “I think I had a little more problems than most players because I had never played in a back five. I needed time. I took this time to adapt, to learn from it, to improve myself. If you see me now, it’s much better”.

Regarding the club’s prospects, Ziyech confided that the Blues are looking to compete on different fronts until the end of the season. “We want to win the two cups we are still in. The league is not really realistic so what we are really playing for if you are talking about trophies is the FA Cup and the Champions League, of course,” he claimed.
Chelsea are in the Champions League quarter-finals as well as the FA Cup semi-finals, with games against Real Madrid and Crystal Palace respectively in April.
