The first provided two assists to his attacking partner in just 34 minutes of hard-fought 3-2 victory against Universidad Católica, yesterday (27).
With the result, Flamengo maintained its 100% success rate in Group H of Libertadores and forwarded its spot to the round of 16. The red-black attacking duo expanded their mark and made their leading role even more evident in a night of many defensive failures against a team in crisis.
For the 15th time, Gabi scored after a pass from Bruno, who returned to the team after a knee tendinopathy and showed his waiter side again. In all, the scorer has already scored 118 goals for the club and occupies the 15th place in the table of the club’s top scorers.
In the first goal, after just seven minutes, Bruno Henrique escaped on the left and served Gabigol, who touched the goalkeeper’s exit. After 27 minutes, the film repeated itself. Shirt 27 received from Arrascaeta and advanced on the left side. After invading the area, Bruno Henrique crossed in the measure for the attacking duo.
close to the record
Scorer of two goals (the other was by Lázaro), Gabigol returned to be a protagonist and reinforced his size at the club and in the competition. With the balls in the net in Chile, he reached 26, passing Palhinha and Fred in the list of Brazilian goalscorers. With 29, Luizão leads.
After helping Gabriel to score twice for the 22nd time wearing red and black, Bruno praised the partnership with Gabigol and stressed that the partnership is the result of friendship. “It’s a partner and a friend. We get along well on and off the field. I’m very happy with the team, which showed the character of a winning team. So we’ll walk our paths in pursuit of our goal,” he said.
“Gabi and I have a partnership since Santos, it’s nothing new. We look at each other on the field and manage to make assists and goals”, added Bruno Henrique.
Gabriel also celebrated the success of his marriage with Bruno and celebrated yet another milestone reached by Fla. The athlete praised his teammate and ironically commented that he is getting closer to being the Brazilian with the most goals in the main tournament in South America:
“I managed to play a good game with the help of Bruno Henrique and the whole team, it was an important victory in the competition. I’m happy for the goals, but mainly for the victory. It’s good to break another record, but I hope to pass Luizão to talk about me again”.
After the triumph in Chile, Fla breathes a sigh of relief with the victory and imminent place in the round of 16. On Sunday, Rubro-Negro turns the bracket and faces Altos (PI), 18h, in Albertão, for the Copa do Brasil.
