Shortly after the first test flight, the Mars rover conducted another first test flight. On April 20, 2021 produced Oxygen using the device on the plane. It does so by taking carbon dioxide from the Martian atmosphere. This is the first time oxygen has been produced on another planet.
The atmosphere of the red planet is made up of about 95% carbon dioxide. As technology develops, NASA hopes that astronauts on future Mars missions will be able to produce their own oxygen. That would be more economical than carrying large amounts of oxygen from Earth.
First trip
In June, the rover entered service. However, Perseverance landed in Jezero Crater, which scientists strongly suspect contains a lake. This makes him an ideal candidate for searching for traces of life.
Over the next few months, Martian explorers will embark on a true wilderness journey, traveling miles and miles to explore craters. In August, the rover attempted to collect the first soil sample, but failed.
In the end can Perseverance will do it in September. A hole is drilled in the rock, after which the grains are collected in a small tube. Perseverance is supposed to gather some monsters and keep them safe on the red planet. Will the sample? Then They were captured by another mission to Mars, which was supposed to return them to Earth in the 1930s.
