From this Monday, the usually paid parking lots become free throughout the month of August.
As every year in Lyon, from August 1 to 31, regulated on-street parking spaces are now free, with a few exceptions. As far as free parking spaces are concerned, this happens in the “Tempo” zone, which represents 38,750 spaces. In order to know if you are in the area, an information message will be displayed on the screens of the parking meters as well as on the mobile payment solution.
For areas where payment is maintained, this happens in the busiest streets in order to meet turnover needs (shops, offices, etc.) and to curb long-term immobilization. This represents nearly 6,800 remaining paid spaces on the streets in the Presqu’île, Vieux-Lyon, Vaise and Croix-Rousse districts, as well as on the city’s main shopping streets.
In Villeurbanne, it’s much simpler, all places become free during the month of August.
