How did the “nitrates” reach Lebanon and for what purpose?

A member of the “Strong Lebanon” bloc, Representative Salim Aoun, tweeted on his Twitter account, writing, “Beware that the truth of the port bombing will fly on the impact of populism and political investment.”

He added, “The truth begins with researching the facts, and then comes the imposition of responsibility.”

He continued, “The truth begins with knowing the owner of the nitrates, how it arrived in Lebanon and for what purpose, and its quantity upon its arrival and when it exploded.”

And he concluded by asking, “How did it explode, and was that contrived or because of a mistake, and what is it?”

It is noteworthy that, 13 months after the investigations were suspended due to lawsuits filed against him by defendants, Judge Al-Bitar resumed his investigations into the Beirut Port explosion.

An explosion rocked the port of Beirut on August 4, 2020, and resulted in damage to a number of streets in the capital, Beirut, killing more than 230 people, injuring more than 6,000 people, and leaving 300,000 people homeless.
