How did the first weeks of the NBA bubble for basketball players? – Basketball

Upon arrival in Orlando, each player, coach and team staff was given a white bracelet, which starts beeping when someone is closer than two meters. In the NBA, many of these devices were distributed to players with empty batteries. Consequently, they were invalid.

Representatives of many teams are satisfied with the league’s work in the “bubble” and praise the adaptation to the new conditions in the world created by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Journalists admit that NBA players are not always reprimanded for every security breach, because the main characters need to be optimistic in these circumstances.

Basketball players have been happy during these three weeks. Teams get used to the conditions in Disney City. The NBA continues to take huge precautions in trying to make sure players have all the amenities – food and entertainment in their spare time.

NBA players like dining halls and cafes, which they visit after training, as their main place of rest. On Sundays, these rooms are full of coaches and basketball players.

“It’s very hard to be in your room all the time. The exception is training,” Milwaukee Bucks defender George Hill said when asked about players resting in the dining room. “Just sitting in regular chairs makes us feel like before, so players like to linger there.”

All teams in the league have access to shared restaurants, but every day each team enjoys their meal in their own private dining room. Some teams, such as the Bucks and the Miami Heat, have decorated this hall with various team photos.

Many players appreciate the feeling of coziness. “It’s really special,” said Heat defender Goran Dragic. “We know we’ll be here for a long time, and it was something incredible on the part of the organization that did it for us. All the teams in the league are amazed at our beautiful layout.”

Dallas Mavericks training is no different from a daily routine. The unit represented by Kristaps Porziņģis has provided all team players with a large amount of disinfectant. The team equipment manager stores large stocks in a special room. Staff disinfects all equipment before and after each workout.

“My role has become more important because I don’t have anyone here to help,” said equipment manager Johnson. “Be careful with the virus and all other things.”

Johnson also admits that disinfection must be done quickly. After one workout, the lesson starts for the next unit. Training can only start when the previous team has left the hall.
