A survey published on Tuesday 23 November tells us that nearly 3 in 4 French people play video games. And among the mythical characters figure Sonic, the little blue hedgehog running at the speed of sound. The game was launched by Sega in the early 90s.
Originally, Sonic had to be a bunny with a bow tie. But it took a curling up character to do as much damage as possible at full speed. This is how the idea of the hedgehog germinated in the mind of the creator of the game.
As for the color, blue was Sega’s color. For the red shoes, the creator was inspired by the album cover Bad by Michael Jackson. Against a white background, the singer wore a black outfit with the word “Bad” written in bright red, a contrast that beguiled.
