FC Bayern was by far the best team in foreign stadiums last season. This is not only supported by the lead of six points, but also by far the best goal difference of +18. Apart from Munich, only Dortmund (+1) and Leipzig (+3) were able to record positive goal difference. The title of Bayern is therefore mainly due to the away strength or the weakness of other teams.

In the away ranking, SC Freiburg would have made it into the premier class. With 25 points, you could take two more points than Union Berlin in foreign places. Ultimately, of course, this is a pattern without value.

Due to an unconvincing second half of the season, Bremen had to worry about staying up in the league for a long time and finished 13th at the end of the season. This is more due to the weakness at home. Away, the record reads pretty well with 19 points and ninth place.

The difference in points between eleventh place (Frankfurt) and twelfth place (Hoffenheim) is striking. TSG have only picked up 13 points away from home, leading the league of clubs that have done very little away from home. These include Augsburg, Stuttgart, Schalke, Gladbach, Bochum and Hertha.

The foals didn’t have a great season overall, but they managed to hold their ground in tenth place in midfield. This is almost remarkable when you look at the disastrous away record of ten points and 16th place.

While Hertha are 18th in the away table and in the final, Schalke 04 could have saved themselves with their away performance. This was finally enough for 15th place, while Bochum ranked 17th, a relegation zone. Even at VfB, it is not necessarily an away weakness that led to the relegation place. In the away ranking, the Swabians still occupy 14th place.
