How China is grazing on the turmoil in the United States

The Chinese rulers are watching the violent riots in the US with malicious joy. They relishly point out Washington’s hypocrisy and double standards.

Even an eccentric screenwriter could not have imagined such a historical synchronicity: While next Thursday the bloody suppression of the student movement on Beijing’s Tiananmen Square by the People’s Liberation Army is commemorated, US President Donald Trump threatens the demonstrators in his own country 31 years later the use of his armed forces.
“Where are human rights?” Wrote “Global Times” editor-in-chief Hu Xijin in a comment. It may seem strange that the head of the Chinese government’s party-loyal propaganda body asked such a question.
