Not all cyclist those who are active on the road understand how to traffic Therefore, motorized vehicle drivers are advised to always be wise when interacting on the streets. This requires the discretion of motorized vehicle drivers to get along with cyclists who are smaller in size.
Lately, the behavior of cyclists on the streets of Jakarta has been widely discussed because they are considered to often disturb the drivers of other vehicles on the road. Many cyclists also use the same road area as cars or motorbikes, the interaction of these vehicles under certain conditions can trigger traffic accidents which of course are detrimental.
For those of you who are car drivers, it is recommended to follow some of the following tips to get along with cyclists when paving.
1. Avoid overtaking from the left
For those of you who use four wheels, it is advisable not to overtake from the left of the road which is an area of cyclist activity. The cyclist should be on the left side of the road because the speed is low.

3. Don’t stop on the bike path
The government has provided a number of lanes that have been accompanied by special signs for bicycle users. Usually, the lane is on the left side of the road. However, many of these points do not have boundaries or barriers to motorized vehicle lanes.
A number of lanes are known to only be accompanied by road dividers which are distinguished from paint signs on the asphalt.
When knowing the special lane for cyclists, car drivers are advised not to park in that location. Park at the designated location.
4. Signaling
Almost all vehicles are required to have a signal or horn, which serves to warn other users.
For this reason, it is recommended to give a signal in the form of a short horn or dim and turn signal, if your position is close to a bicycle on the highway.
5. Always be alert
Driving is an activity that must be full of concentration, because the presence of cyclists is getting more and more crowded, so it is also necessary to get attention.
Drivers should understand that some bicycles may not be equipped with lights for identification, for example when it is dark. This can be a consideration for drivers to be more aware of the movements of cyclists who have the potential to move quickly.
