Bank of Russia plans Creation of a self-prohibition mechanism for lending. This feature prevents attackers from fraudulently borrowing from third parties.

Russian users can apply to any qualified credit bureau, an MFI or a bank through the Gosuslug website and set a special ban on credit approval.

Banks and microfinance organizations must check the existence of self-restraints in the borrower’s credit history before granting loans, credits and installments. If the creditor passes on the money despite the existence of a prohibition, the client has the right not to pay the debt.

If desired, a person can set and remove such restrictions an infinite number of times for free, depending on the life situation. Currently, the process of creating a self-prohibition mechanism for lending is at the stage of coordination with government bodies, notes the Bank of Russia.
