How much we would like to protect our loved ones but we realize that our strength alone lacks something, it is good to understand that that something is precisely prayer.
Placing loved ones under God’s protection is an important act that has value in his eyes and intercedes with him in a mysterious way. We look to the Crucified Jesus who died for us and ask God to have mercy on us. To forgive us, to protect us, to heal us, to save us and to “give us our daily bread”, that is, everything we need to move forward in life.
Let’s not forget that to pray for the people we love it will be for us and for them a reason of great comfort that God will give silently and in time but with certainty: this is also our faith.

My God, don’t reject the pleas
that I dare to introduce you
