How can we block goals easily

The Pokémon Unite community of players is enjoying a wide variety of exciting games in which each player does their part to fuel the competitive spirit within the first Pokémon MOBA video game.

Something that seems quite curious to us is that while Pokemon Unite faces 10 characters to fight each other, the team that has the most points at the end of the contest is, ultimately, the one that wins the match. Preventing enemies from giving up their Aeos Orbs is key to ensuring a victory. For this we have compiled everything you need to know if you really want to block the targets.

Goal blocking in Pokémon Unite

In standard and ranked games, each team has a total of three goal zones. If you manage to hit one, you can hold down or tap a button to convert your Aeos Orbs for points. However, it is not that simple, as the scoring is not really instantaneous.

When a Trainer initiates a scoring sequence, their Pokémon will play an animation that, once complete, will launch the orbs into the area. It is during this moment that you can hit and interrupt the sequence, denying them the target.

How to lock a target in Pokémon Unite

  • Step 1: Find an opponent in a goal zone that is in the middle of a scoring sequence. On your minimap, there will be a white circle around their name that will slowly fill in. The ‘mon will also have particle effects around them when they are about to score.
  • Step 2: Hand them over immediately and use a special ability move (basic attacks often don’t work). The best way to block targets is to use abilities that have a knockback, knockback, or stun effect.
  • Step 3: Once you remove them from the sequence, the game will count this as a block. You need to make sure to finish off the enemy as they can trigger the scoring sequence again.

The best skills to block goals in Pokémon Unite

The best blocking skills in Unite will have a push or kick effect. However, there are other movements that get the job done too, such as grogginess and sleep attacks.

Most Pokémon in the game will have at least one move that can easily interrupt a player trying to score. Below is a list of the skills that we think are the best for blocking goals in Unite.
