How can I embed my video? – Help Center

You can embed your videos on your website or other platforms. Before embedding a video, you can customize the video player.

How to embed a video

1. Search for your video in your library and select it to open the settings page.
2. In the upper right corner, select the privacy icon of your Split button.
3. Click In the window that opens, click Embed.
   

4. A modal window opens with the HTML code. By default, this code applies to a responsive Player, but you can manually configure the size (in pixels) of the embedded player if needed. To do so, select Adjust and activate the option Tailor-made custom .
   

5. In this modal you can Privacy settings for embedding and choose where your video can be embedded. You can also Equipment symbol to edit the following settings:

   • Allow downloads (enable/disable)
   • People can add to the presentation (turn on/off)
   • Allow public comments (activate/deactivate)
   • Privacy default settings
6. Choose Embed code Copy to copy the HTML code to your clipboard, which you can then paste into your website’s HTML editor.
7. Any future changes you make to your video, such as appearance settings, will automatically be applied to the embedded player. You won’t need to embed your video again.

Additional Information

• If you see a bug fix in the embedded player, check your Privacy settings.
  • Make sure you have allowed your website domain to embed your video.
  • Videos set to Private can only be seen by other team members in your Vimeo account, even if they’re embedded elsewhere. Use Unlisted instead.
• If you are familiar with HTML, you can find a list of Player -Settings that you can add to further customize the embedded player.
• The size and position of the player iframe can be affected by your website’s styling. This is often applied with pre-made themes or plugins in website builders such as WordPress, Wix or Squarespace. If you have set the dimensions correctly in your embed code but the Vimeo player is rendering differently, we recommend checking your website builder to see if any additional formatting has been done to the player iframe.

• Videos can only be embedded in certain versions of Microsoft Powerpoint. For more information about which versions of Microsoft are supported, see ” Versions of Powerpoint that support online videos“. Microsoft also shows how to insert a video into your Powerpoint presentation.

  • Alternatively, you can download your video to your device and add the file to your Powerpoint presentation. • The list of embed domains is scrollable. If you have more than 25 domains on the allowed list, you can scroll to monitor and manage a single asset. The most recently added domain is at the top of the list, meaning domains are listed in descending order of most recent.
