How can a 40,000-seat stadium with half-empty grandstands accommodate nearly 42,000 people according to official figures in Qatar? ᐉ News from Fakti.bg – Sport

Another day, another scandal at the World Cup. This time we note a discrepancy with the official data, the capacity and the apparent attendance of the match between Senegal and the Netherlands, which ended earlier today 0:2 for the “tulips”.

The hosts of Qatar announced that 41,721 people attended the match, while the capacity of the Al Thumama stadium was just 40,000.

The television broadcast and the media in the field, in turn, showed a completely different picture. Most of the neutral sectors were visibly empty, which discredits the information Qatar offers in the public space.

In such situations, there is always the possibility that tickets are sold out and this is the information the organizers refer to. This is a problem of the “black” trade that always thrives around the big football forums. In general, organized crime groups purchase large quantities of tickets and then resell them at speculative retail prices. FIFA has its defenses against such acts, but they are far from working as intended.

In such situations we are used to asking the police for information because mass rallies are always under police surveillance, but in this case there is no official information with which to compare Al Thumama’s attendance figures.
