Can I get coronavirus on the street?
– On the street, aerosol dispersion is very fast. Theoretically, a situation where a clearly sick person will sneeze and cough, standing still and creating an infectious aerosol around him, maybe. Aerosol has two phases. The first phase is easy: it goes into the air and hangs there for a while. The second is heavy: the aerosol immediately goes down, on the surface, and there a film forms from which it can be infected.
But in open space, the aerosol quickly dissipates by the wind. Therefore, the social distance is so important: you do not need to stand close to each other so as not to accidentally fall into such an aerosol cloud.
Is it possible to get infected if you touch an object that has got human biological fluids (for example, saliva)?
– The virus, indeed, settles on the surfaces, and the air masses in this case will not save. The virus can remain on handrails, benches, railings, door handles and other objects and remain there for some time. Data on the safety of the virus on the surfaces of different authors vary, but for myself I have identified a time frame from 24 to 72 hours. This applies to wood, plastic, metal surfaces.
