The new guest of the Figurka program was Alexander Shevchuk – world expert in fashion, image maker and chief stylist of the Ice Age show. In addition to the ice project, Alexander worked in the programs “Voice”, “Voice. Children “,” Star Factory “and others, as well as at the Sochi Olympics.
Emma Gadzhieva learned from Alexander everything about how the participants, the jury and the hosts of the project are dressed. And yes, Shevchuk reads comments about the images of Alina Zagitova.
– What is the peculiarity of working on the “Ice Age”?
– It’s a sport. Athletes are also creators. I call creators those people who create something with their own hands, create beauty. But athletes are not only creators, but also fighters. These are people who overcome pain, all kinds of adversity. And all the same they go out on the ice, run, jump.
I am an athlete in the past, I have the second adult category in athletics. Medium distance running. Therefore, I know firsthand what sport is.
– When do you choose a suit for athletes? Are they stubborn?
– I even like it, I myself am. I have a lot of interesting stories about this.
Few people know that Tatiana Navka, with whom I have many interesting works, represented our country at the dance Eurovision Song Contest. We went with her and Yuri Igorevich Aksyuta. And she took second place there. The policy was not very good and correct, so the second place. I’m sure she should have been the first.
She’s an amazing skater and an amazing dancer as it turns out. And we thought about her image for a very long time. What should she wear, how to comb her hair, what make-up she will have. But the image in the end was deadly, although it was difficult to agree on anything.
In my opinion, all famous people see themselves, know how to present themselves. Therefore, sometimes you have to adjust something, do it more professionally.
– It is believed that athletes from figure skating, rhythmic gymnastics love when it is bright, colorful, so that there are rhinestones. And it is very difficult to wean them from this.
– It all depends on people, on the kind of sport. There is music that obliges you to do something, people who do it have an image, they see themselves in a certain image. And sometimes it all depends on what they have come up with for themselves. They do not always have the opportunity to resort to the advice of real masters, designers, fashion designers. Perhaps because of the financial side of the issue.
I think this is a delusion. I am sure that our athletes have great taste. They see a lot, they travel a lot, they have something to compare with.
– It is impossible not to mention the host of the “Ice Age” Alina Zagitova. I don’t know if you read reviews on the Internet …
– I read, of course, I am working on this project and I see everything.
– There are a lot of dissatisfied people who say that the outfits are not very fashionable, do not keep up with the times.
– I want to correct the audience and remind that there is a concept of a picture. Will the image look good for the picture of the First Channel, for the picture of this project? And then we talk about whether it suits her or not. Maybe she decided that, she likes it so much. Why do people judge good or bad. The final word is always with Alina. She asserts her images.
We decide everything together, but I’m responsible for the picture. I cannot admit that the picture is bad, that someone shines, someone has poorly styled hair. When television went to high-definition (high definition video – Approx. Sport24), we, of course, began to use primers, and foundation, and sprays that do not glue the hair, but make it look alive, natural. We all take this into account. We make a picture.
– How is the presenter’s outfit selected?
– Now it is a little different, not like it used to be. We all live in a pandemic. Many boutiques and showrooms are closed, the process of selection, delivery and viewing has become a little more complicated. Not everything is within our reach now. This, of course, is not to say that the ether suffers, but you have to replace something with something. We bring things to the Luzhniki dressing room, try them on. We approve some options, they look further. Of course, if Alina likes it, if she feels comfortable, then she goes and acts in it.
– There are too many sparkles for me. There is a feather on the head, the dress shines.
– Why not?
– It’s not fashionable.
– And who said what is fashionable? The concept of fashion is so abstract. Now no one can say what is fashionable, what is unfashionable. Everything is fashionable now. And the more unusual it is, the more interesting it is. Even the worst emotions are emotions. Do you really want people not to have emotions?
– It’s better when these emotions are positive.
– And there will never be positive emotions. People will always be dissatisfied with something. Do you think people are happy with what Lady Gaga is wearing, Madonna? Of course not.
– They have such an extravagant image.
– Why can’t Alina have such an image? She just creates such an image on the screen. The image of an extravagant figure skater.
– There is also the impression that she looks plump. I want to change something.
– Sometimes, maybe. Sometimes not. Again: depends on the shooting, on the camera, on the light. I think this is your subjective opinion, but we will think about this topic, take note of it. Now I’ll take a closer look. I think we will try to please the audience so that they like it.
– Most importantly, we realized that Alina herself likes it, she is comfortable with it.
– This is the most important thing, because they must speak the text, give out emotion, charisma, so that this broadcast is comfortable and interesting for the audience.
– You dress a huge number of presenters on Channel One. Take the same Alla Mikheeva.

– She has her own opinion, she is a very charismatic person, she has her own view of herself. She is different in age. She is not a figure skater, but the host of the bright, biting project “Evening Urgant”. There, by the way, my friend and student Igor Stupnikov works as a stylist. These are two different things, you cannot compare them. Do not need.

– Sure. Each presenter lives its own life, each project lives its own life. So it should be, the more interesting.
– As for the participants of the “Ice Age”. Does your team wear them too?
– Yes, we dress everyone. There are eight to ten of us here, it depends on the project, on what is needed. When the topic of the program is given, we start, as they say, digging. We dig interesting wigs, interesting bows and makeup. We try and discuss. This is all a very interesting creative process.
– What was the most difficult project you worked with?
– I don’t know, there weren’t any. When a well-coordinated, smart, competent team of professionals works with you, everything is easy. Of course, twenty-five people from our team, two hundred and fifty volunteers, work on huge projects like the Sochi Olympics. It was difficult because it is a lot of hard work.
– Alina Zagitova’s mother also takes part in the creation of her images. Is it possible that they find something in stores and send it to you?
– This happens too, why not? If they think what suits her, she feels comfortable in it. It can all be. Again, if this does not contradict the essence of the program, the picture. I believe that viewers should be lenient to Alina and to the broadcast format.
– You have been on television for many years. How can you describe the changes that have taken place in the television picture? How the presenters dress.
– Now there are more opportunities. I remember how we did the project “Old songs about the main thing. Postscript ”, that was twenty years ago. And I’m just comparing what we made up with then. If something was brought from abroad, it was generally “wow”. And what clothes were. There was no name, everything was brought in, altered, formed bit by bit. Now there are a lot of opportunities, a lot of boutiques, brands. Back then, a white tie or white gloves was impossible to find. We bought them in some theater stores. And now there is everything. It’s easier to work now, but more interesting.
– Are you involved in the images of judges here?
– The point is that judges come to judge as they are. Tatyana Anatolyevna has her own image, she is comfortable in it. And in no case should you destroy it. She is a lump, the person that the whole country, all athletes are equal to. Everyone takes into account her opinion, she is a super-professional in her field. Why redo her hair or makeup? It’s the same with the rest. Each member of the jury has his own image, his own charisma, his own style. We can only correct, make them applicable to the picture, to the shooting.
– When you start working on a new project, see what they are doing in America, in Hollywood?
– We always look at everything. And they also look at everything. If you think that Madonna does not hear the songs that are sung in Russia, then you are mistaken. Everyone hears them.
Although you introduced me as a world famous stylist, I am not. I am absolutely calm in this regard. Yes, probably, if I went abroad, I would definitely work with some Kylie Minogue.
They all know, it’s all in the air. They know what we sing, what we wear, what programs we broadcast, what formats. And we see what they have. Of course, we cannot compare the Oscars or Grammys with what is happening here, but, you know, I recently watched the awards on Channel One and saw that those directors, those people who create these projects, very many ideas. And they are very interesting and not like those in the west.
