Instead of a very hard work, one would try for a comparatively easier and paying job. But Linda Krockenberger, a German expatriate here in the UAE, has a different story to tell. Linda quit her multi-million dollar corporate job after a camel ride.
Linda Crockenberger came to the UAE nine years ago as an intern at a hotel in revenue management. Linda is a hard worker and from there, she achieved great success in her career in a short time. When she finally quit her corporate job, Linda was the head of revenue for a private company.

Camel riding was initially seen only as a pastime but later became a fad. With that, he left his job and went after the camels. I found out about the camel riding training program under the Hamdan bin Mohammed Heritage Center when I was looking for a pastime in my free time from work, reports Gulf News quoting Linda.
“It was a 12-day trek from the Empty Quarter in the Abu Dhabi region to the Global Village in Dubai. The first was the annual trek. Usually there are many people who apply for trekking but only a few get invited to the program. “I was lucky to get the opportunity the first time I applied,” says Linda Crockenberger.
What drew me to the program was his way of connecting more with the Arabian heritage, where camels play an important role. I was exhausted from my trek. Camels are a reflection of your inner self. They are emotionally intelligent animals that respond to your stressors and emotions. They take it all in and give you peace and love in return, says the young lady.

After 12 days of trekking, her interest in camel riding skyrocketed. “One thing led to another and I decided to leave my full-time corporate career to pursue my passion of camel riding,” said Linda Crockenberger.
Later in January 2021, Krokenberger also established a center called Arabian Desert Camel Riding in Al Lizaili on Dubai-Al Ain Road with another person. Here mainly the training of riders in camel riding and handling takes place. Both traditional forms of riding and modern methods are taught here, animal welfare, education and of course Arab hospitality are also included as part of the syllabus.
“The center is open to both men and women. However, we only train women riders for camel racing. The reason we focus on women riders in races is that we want to empower them with all the necessary skills and help them increase the presence of women in a field dominated by male riders,” she said. added
Krockenberger claims the center has seen growth in registrations over the past year. “We have 1,200 classes booked. That’s an average of three classes a day last year. When we started we had four camels. Today we have 14 camels and other systems,” adds Linda.
