GAZA – a senior officer of the opposition movement Houthi Yemen has warned of a wider escalation of attacks if Israel launches a full-scale attack on the densely populated southern city of Rafah in the Gaza Strip.

Allama Muhammad Muftah, adviser to the President of the Supreme Political Council and Chairman of the High Committee of the National Campaign for the Support of al-Aqsa, said, “The rise of Israel in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank and the threat of attack to take on Rafah. we met with great response from Yemen and the announcement of the fourth round of escalation. “

He described the new level of reprisal action by the Yemeni army against Israeli ships as a form of solidarity with the Palestinian people who are facing Israel’s genocidal war in Gaza.

“If there is an increase [di Rafah]”The decision of the Yemeni armed forces is clear, and a wider escalation is possible,” he told al-Masirah TV channel.

The Israeli military intensified its bombardment of the city of Rafah along with ground attacks shortly after Hamas agreed to a cease-fire proposal in Gaza.

Muftah also noted that the group’s likely rise “would be in response to any Israeli audacity, whether attacks on Yemen, Gaza, or any inch of Palestinian territory.”

The threat of an escalation of Houthi attacks “will bear fruit and achieve its goals and make the enemy think seriously about their next actions and review their calculations before they do any action.”

This comes as Yahya Saree, a spokesman for the Houthi Armed Forces, announced “the beginning of the fourth phase of escalation,” amid Israel’s expected attack on Rafah.
