The last time Victor Oladipo was traded for a disgruntled superstar, he became the consolation prize when the Indiana Pacers traded Paul George for him and Domantas Sabonis.
During the Draft, Oladipo joined Orlando. We didn’t know how his career would evolve. He developed one of the fastest dribble-to-shot gatherings in the NBA, like a hero drawing his gun in a western. Every move was a surprise. He didn’t just grow up, he shone, he smiled, he sang. He was at home.
A good recruit for Houston?
After an injury in 2019, Oladipo is back to his best. He is also the infusion of energy that the Houston Rockets need. A team with a disgruntled superstar wanted a player who could integrate their philosophy. Houston must come out of a grueling situation.
Below is a video in English relating this transfer:
If you couldn’t see it in coach Stephen Silas’s face when the Lakers beat the Rockets on Tuesday, you could see it in the players. James Harden said more in a 45-second press conference than he had all season, reiterating his desire to leave.
James Harden’s desire to leave the Rockets
Two months after Harden’s initial request, something must have given way, and it happened quickly. The deal involved four teams. The Rockets traded Harden to the Brooklyn Nets, who supplied them with Dante Exum, Radions Kurucs, four unprotected first-round picks.
The Pacers traded Oladipo, a politely disgruntled star, for Caris and LeVert and a second round of Draft. Oladipo has had an interesting career arc. Second pick in the 2013 Draft, he worked hard in Orlando and became an Oklahoma super-player.
