HOUSTON, Texas. – Authorities of the area of Houston charges were brought against a man for harassment and assault against public servants.

According to the documents of the Harris county courthouse, 29-year-old Dillon Burdick assaulted a driver, a Metro transit system official, and an agent for being Hispanic. The events occurred on Wednesday, May 12.

“I don’t want to use the word, but it is a very ugly word against the driver. When he used that word and with what he had done, it became a hate crime and they took him to jail and when he arrived he spat at the detention officer, ”said Rubén Pérez, assistant prosecutor of the Harris County.

Burdick faces bail of $ 7,500 and remains in the Harris County jail and will have to appear in court this Friday.
