Houston Celebrates One Month Under Water Savings Phase After Drought – NBC 7 Houston

HOUSTON – Houston has been under phase 1 of the Contingency Plan for saving and preserving water for a month in the face of the drought conditions that the city is facing.

For now, the savings plan remains voluntary, but the need for self-rationing measures is insisted on.

Phase 1 establishes that the irrigation of public areas in homes and buildings must be limited between 7 pm and 5 am to twice a week.

Single-family homes with even numbers in their addresses must do so on Thursdays and Sundays.

While she was in the water, two alligators were seen grabbing her, according to authorities. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Those that have addresses ending in an odd number, must do so on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

The others will be able to do it Tuesday and Friday.

Likewise, the Houston Public Works Department reminded the community of the importance of repairing any water leaks both inside and outside the homes, including the irrigation system.

According to the estimates of this department, during a first phase it is possible to save 5% in water consumption.
