Housing. Rue de Villars, we’re rebuilding the city on the city

Demolish and rebuild. Better. Rue de Villars, the former offices of France Telecom are unrecognizable today. The original building has been boned; two additional floors were built to catch up with the line of neighboring buildings. Owner of the site, the social landlord LogiEst has designed 41 rental housing units and a tertiary area on the ground floor.

The delivery of the first homes expected at the end of 2021

Damien Tourneur, Director of Development at LogiEst, recognizes the ups and downs of this project, but today the operation is progressing rather well. After months of back and forth, dumpsters and trucks should no longer bother the neighborhood too much. “The enclosure and the cover will be finished at the beginning of the year. Then we can work inside… ”The delivery of the first homes is expected by the end of 2021; the others will follow at the beginning of 2022. The plans of the architect Jean-Denis Sagan are qualitative; balconies and loggias, at the rendezvous. The ocher of the future facade will dress the street, that’s for sure.

A cost of nearly 8 M €

The transformation of the premises is ambitious, as is its cost: nearly € 8 million. It’s huge, “but we are receiving support from the Action Logement group, which is providing € 1.07 million in the framework of the City Heart Action program », Specifies Damien Tourneur. This real estate program is also the first to benefit from subsidies from Action Cœur de ville. “Housing is an essential component: to revitalize the hypercentre, it is necessary to bring back inhabitants”, insists the mayor, Pierre Cuny, who came to visit the site on Wednesday.
