Housing association: sisters can still live in the house after mother’s death

The housing association confirms a message from RTV Oost about the delay. There will first be a meeting with the responsible alderman, who wants to sit down with both Ons Huis and the sisters.

The newspaper Tubantia drew the story of the two sisters up last weekend. It caused a lot of commotion. Last night a building of Our House was defaced. Two cars of the housing corporation were set on fire, a third was doused with a liquid.

The targeted attack appeared to be related to the intended eviction of the sisters, but the police cannot say anything about it yet. Two slogans had been put on the building: ‘Rules are rules’ and ‘Tom Jacobs’, the manager of the housing corporation.

Every year, more than 80 young adults between the ages of 16 and 30 are evicted from their social housing after the death of a parent.
