Houses became on average half a ton more expensive in 2021

For the first time last year, there were municipalities where the houses were sold for an average of more than 1 million euros. This is apparent from the house prices per municipality that Statistics Netherlands and the Land Registry have listed.

Sales prices were highest in Blaricum, with an average of 1.067 million euros. Bloemendaal followed with 1.008 million euros. These two Noord-Holland municipalities were the only ones with an average sales price above one million. In 2020, the average price in those two municipalities was still around 850,000 euros.

Houses are cheapest in Pekela in Groningen: 200,000 euros on average. Pekela was also the cheapest municipality in 2020, when an average of 164,000 euros was paid for a home there.
