At the next government meeting, when deciding on support for the population to overcome the rapid increase in the prices of energy resources, “Attīstībai/Par” (AP) will encourage to provide support for households with wood heating as well, Minister of Environmental Protection and Regional Development Artūrs Toms Pleš (AP) told LTV’s “Morning Panorama” this morning.
Pleš estimated that there are several tens of thousands of such households, but did not specify exactly what kind of support AP will encourage to provide.
The minister reminded that next week the government will decide on starting the 350 million euro support package for the citizens.
The politician noted that people are actively applying to install solar panels and the recent high gas bills only keep this activity going. So far, around 1,300 households have used support programs in this area.
