The House of Representatives will meet on Saturday morning to make a decision on a possible recount of the votes in the House of Representatives elections. This concerns a recount at four polling stations in Tilburg
There are said to be ‘inexplicable counting differences’ at the four Tilburg polling stations. There is a counting difference of more than 15 votes. This concerns the Beatrix College, OBS de Fonke offices, De Goede Herder parish hall and Zuiderkwartier community center.
Now the proposal is to have a recount there. This recount will have to take place this weekend.
Invitation to members of the old House of Representatives
All 150 members of the old House of Representatives have one received an invitation from Chamber President Bergkamp to meet on Saturday morning. This has never happened before in the recent history of parliament.
In order to make a decision on the recount, at least 76 MPs must be present on Saturday.
Difference of 160 votes in the last remaining seat
On Friday, when the last remaining seat was distributed, it turned out that there was a very small difference between the SP and D66. D66 received 9 seats, the SP 5. If D66 had received 160 more votes, that party would have received the last remaining seat instead of the SP.
It could be exciting, especially for D66 and the SP. D66 member Tjeerd de Groot may still get a seat in Parliament, probably at the expense of SP member Michiel van Nispen from Breda.
