Live on Stage, Classic Cool! or child stars – the Haus der Musik, a Wien Holding museum, invites you to great concert experiences in autumn.
Live on Stage: Hidden Cameras (solo)
Hidden Cameras is the project of singer and songwriter Joel Gibb. The queercore/pop band from Toronto is a loose collective of almost 20 musicians, but this time Gibb is performing solo as The Hidden Cameras. Queer anthems, touching lyrics and a strong stage presence characterize the Canadian act’s shows. Guests on Friday, October 11th at 8:00 p.m. in the Haus der Musik.
Children’s concerts: Marko Simsa, Gernot Kranner & Classic Cool!
With the Klassik Cool! performance “The Cricket and the Ant,” the Haus der Musik is presenting a hands-on concert for children ages 2 and up on Sunday, October 6th at 3:30 p.m. A ladybug, a cricket and an ant: the well-known fable is told in an exciting way with a lot of love, accompanied by impressive pieces of music. Where La Aesop left off his story, the story begins: with a lot of music and a little philosophy! After the concert, interested children can also try out the instruments. Another classic Cool follows on Friday, October 25th at 3:30 p.m. Performance: “Sun, Moon and Stars” is a participatory concert around the Lantern Festival. The legend of St. Martin is told lovingly and in a way suitable for small children – accompanied by classical music. During the concert, the children become little musicians and accompany the story with instruments and onomatopoeia! With narration, violin, piano.
Singer, actor, author, director and legendary “Professor Abronsius” from the musical “Dance of the Vampires”, Gernot Kranner, will present the new sing-along musical “The Wizard of Oz” to the young audience on Sunday, October 13th at 11:00 a.m !”. An encouraging musical for everyone who has a goal in mind – no matter how far away it is. The children sing and dance together with Gernot and his dolls – and together they manage to escort Dorothy home safely.
Actor, producer and musician Marko Simsa will grace the Haus der Musik on Friday, October 18th at 3:30 p.m. This time he presents his show “Keyboard Magic – Piano Hits for Children”. This program is all about black and white keys: a piano concerto with music by WA Mozart and small exercise pieces by JS Bach and R. Schumann are shown. There’s rock’n’roll, animal sounds, funny clowns, quick finger exercises and, happily, even the pink panther stops by!
Piano House Förstl Day in the House of Music
At Förstl Day on Wednesday, October 30th from 2:00 p.m. in the Haus der Musik, the focus is on the piano! Even if the piano keys are black and white, it becomes colorful. How does a piano work? Do you know how many strings a grand piano has? And what do you have to consider when it comes to the mood? Young pianists and those interested will learn this and much more at the mini piano building workshop by Förstl piano builder Isabella Hahn. Not only do they get their first insight into the inside of a piano, but they even get to do it themselves. The free workshop takes place on the concert stage in the Haus der Musik. Adults can sit in the auditorium. One Registration is only required for the children.
Tipp: With the exclusive children’s club card for the House of Music, all children receive free entry to the museum for a year as well as reduced tickets for children’s concerts – for just 19 euros for a year!
