The Antology is going from strength to strength and the reactions we have received from the community towards Man of Medan Y Little Hope they have been incredible. Historia de The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes
All games of The Dark Pictures Anthology they have an independent history and they are all very different from each other. We went from a lost ghost ship in the South Pacific to an abandoned town in New England and now to the Zagros Mountains.
Our game is set in Iraq, in the year 2003. As the conflict comes to an end. An elite military unit accompanied by CIA field officer Rachel King is ordered to investigate a suspected underground chemical weapons facility in the shadow of the Zagros Mountains.
Upon reaching the coordinates, the search party is ambushed by a local patrol. During the battle, a tremor opens sinkholes in the ground, engulfing both sides and throwing them into the ruins of a buried Sumerian temple. In the darkness below the Arabian desert, something evil has awakened. Wild and unstoppable, a nest of ancient and supernatural creatures will have new prey to hunt …
Each set of The Dark Pictures Anthology has some basis in fact, fiction or legend from the real world and House of Ashes is no exception. So, join us to discover more about that ancient temple into which all our heroes fell.
Temple
The temple is located in the heart of Mesopotamia, a historic land that encompasses what is now Iraq. This area was the cradle of civilization, with written records dating back almost six thousand years. The temple that has a central role in the game was built by a historical figure from the real world. We are talking about the self-proclaimed king god of the Akkadian empire, Naram-Sin, who reigned around 2250 BC. C.
Naram-Sin is said to have annoyed the gods and brought a curse on his people by looting a temple that belonged to Enlil, the god of earth, wind, and storms. The gods brought war, famine, and plagues to their kingdom. In our story, Naram-Sin builds this huge temple as a peace offering to the gods to get rid of the curse, but his pleas will go unnoticed. Akkad falls and the temple of Naram-Sin will be buried under the desert sands… ready to be rediscovered thousands of years later!
The temple dates back to a distant and violent past, and you must navigate through a maze of ancient tunnels and vast, opulent corridors. As you search for a means of escape, you will find that there are more people next to you. The shadows hide a great danger that will stalk you all the way.
This is just a taste of what awaits us with The Dark Pictures Anthology. Don’t miss any details and stay tuned for our news section.
