“House Republicans have made serious and credible allegations about President Biden’s conduct,” McCarthy said. “Taken together, these allegations paint a picture of a culture of corruption.”

The White House condemned the decision to investigate, saying it was “extreme politics at its worst.”
“House Republicans have been investigating the president for nine months and they have not come up with any evidence of wrongdoing,” White House Oversight and Investigations spokesman Ian Sams said on the X social network.
McCarthy said that the “accusations of abuse of power, obstruction and corruption” against Biden are “the basis for further investigation by the House of Representatives.”
Democratic lawmakers have denounced the move as a measure of narrow partisan interest, made in retaliation for the impeachment proceedings against Donald Trump.
