House burglaries, Roma gang arrested in Angri

From the Roma camp of Casoria ad Angers to steal from several homes. Two homes were targeted by four criminals, three of whom were arrested by the Carabinieri of the Pagani branch and the radiomobile section of the territorial department of Lower Nocera. The events occurred between 5 and 7 pm last Sunday. A report reached the Nocera Inferiore Carabinieri operations centre that a black Mercedes C-Class was wandering around Saint Egidio and Angri with four people on board, all with their faces covered by masks. The military began patrolling the area and in via degli Astronauti, not far from the cemetery and the Angri Sud exit, some residents reported the presence of people who had fled from a house on board a similar car.

The Carabinieri stopped to inspect the house from the outside, where the roller shutter had been raised, but there was no one inside. A neighbor, fortunately, had taken a photo of the fugitives’ car, which corresponded precisely to the Mercedes C-Class reported previously. The military gave a search call via radio to all patrols, checking in particular the area between the Angri Sud and Angri Nord toll booths and the perpendicular roads. When they reached the intersection between Via delle Fontane and Via Del Crocifisso, they noticed a man driving the same model of car reported, who, at the sight of them, fled in the direction of the highway. Immediately after, three men with their faces covered by masks escaped from the house: the soldiers stopped one, while the other two fled away, but in the meantime another police car arrived and the residents reported that one of the thieves had fled onto the tracks and they managed to arrest him.

The carabinieri then entered the house in Via Fontana to see what had happened, noting on the shutter and signs of forced entry on the gate. Once upstairs, there was an attic that was accessed through a trap door, but it was blocked. The carabinieri entered through a window and saw that a ladder was blocking the entrance. Looking carefully, they then noticed a man trying to hide, lying on the ground: it was the third thief, also a resident of Casoria, probably in the nomad camp.
