Houria Farghaly: Rising Star in the Egyptian Artistic Scene

Basil El Naggar – Cairo – Sunday, September 10, 2023 08:42 PM – The young Egyptian artist, Houria Farghaly, was able to carve out a place for herself among the stars since she began her artistic career.

She participated in many important works, at the cinematic and dramatic levels.

The beautiful artist Houria Farghaly was born on October 18, 1977 in the Emirates, then left for her country, Egypt, in 2009.

Only one year after her arrival, she participated in a film that caused her suffering as a result of being accused of nudity and the loss of her fiancé.

Among her most recent works is the series “Kingdom of the Gypsies”, which was shown recently and in which she co-starred with the artist Fifi Abdo. She also appeared as a guest of honor in the film “Pharaoh’s Campaign”, which starred the artist Amr Saad, and was shown during the last Eid al-Fitr season.

The young Egyptian artist described the series “The Kingdom of the Gypsies” as difficult, and said, “The whole work was difficult, and there were scenes wearing

It was a light dress even though the weather was very cold, and I continued in these clothes for two days without sleeping, and this was the hardest thing I faced.”

She added: “In addition, I had to drive a large trailer, and this is the first time I have done this. As for horse riding, which many of the audience asked me about, I did not have any problems with it, especially since I am the Egyptian equestrian champion.”

Regarding her hot scene in the movie “Talk to Me Thank You,” in which she took off her underwear, she accused the movie’s director, Khaled Youssef, of being very unfair to her in this movie, especially since the temptation scene she portrayed was not in the script, and he insisted on filming it.

She continued: “I was wronged by this scene on the artistic and human level, and after that I decided not to present such a scene again, and that I would not take off my clothes like this, and I tried to change the public’s perception of me in the other works in which I participated.”

Houria Farghaly confirmed, in the context of previous press statements, that she did not regret performing the hot scene in the movie Thank You, Call Me, because she was inexperienced: “

When Khaled Youssef showed me the scene, I found it convincing that a girl would take off her clothes to entice young men through the Internet, and it was logical in the context of the film’s events, but as I said, I was greatly wronged by it later.”

The main reason for actress Houria Farghali’s regret over performing the scene that caused a widespread uproar in the media and social networking sites was because her fiancé took off his ring and returned it to her during the special screening of the movie “Talk to Me Thank You.”

The film “Talk to Me, Thank You” was produced in 2010 and directed by Khaled Youssef, and co-starring Amr Abdel Galil, Ghada Abdel Razek, Sabry Fawaz, and Shweikar, through which she returned to acting after a long absence.

The Egyptian artist revealed, in a telephone conversation with the journalist Asmaa Mostafa on the “This Morning” program on the Extra News channel, her suffering because her colleagues in the artistic community abandoned her, after a horse climbed on top of her while she was trying to ride it, and smashed her nose about three years ago.

She explained that she has been waiting for about a year for the opening of the American embassy in Cairo, in order to obtain a travel visa to go for a final surgery there, pointing out that she has been living alone since the beginning of the Corona crisis and does not leave her house at all so that people will not see her.

She added, while crying on the air, that there had been a major change in her appearance and voice due to the deformity of her nose, in addition to her completely losing her sense of taste and smell about 3 years ago, saying, “I cannot eat or smell any scent.” For hours, I am afraid that if a fire happens, for example, I will not think about it because I will not feel the smell of smoke.. God is indebted, yes, I do not know its value until now.”

She expressed her great annoyance due to some people’s comments that what happened to her was caused by plastic surgery, pointing out that she had won the title of Miss Egypt and did not need any plastic surgery at all, but she had an accident at the horse farm and a horse fell on top of her, completely crushing her nose, and since then The operations did not stop and her nose did not return to normal.

She continued: “I, the horse, fell completely on top of me and on my face.. I have no nostrils.. A difficult operation because it is not just a shape, no, it is also sinuses, and I taste and smell and my voice returns to normal.. I locked myself in and did not go outside my bedroom because I do not want anyone to see me and compare my appearance now to what I look like now.” before that”.

She also expressed her annoyance at artists abandoning her, after she moved away from the artistic scene, adding, “When I was successful, there were many people around me… but when I sat down to be treated, I did not find anyone beside me… my phone did not ring, no one asked at all, and the people I once stood next to I was not late for anything and suddenly I forgot for them.”

She added: “I performed 38 jobs in 7 years, and I was working while I was sick, and in the series “The Witch of the South,” I was working and my temperature was 40.” She wondered: “Have people reached this point and no longer supported each other?”

Recently, the young artist, Houria Farghali, returned to Egypt after undergoing a series of restoration operations on her nose and face in America that lasted for several months, and she appeared in television statements with features similar to her previous features.
