According to Sadyrbekov, to date, law enforcement agencies have returned property and assets worth about 1 trillion tenge to the state.
“Of this, about $600 million are assets returned from other jurisdictions. More specifically, as far as I know, from the United Arab Emirates – about $15 million, from Austria – $82 million, from Liechtenstein – $260 million, from Hong Kong – $2 million. There are actually quite a lot of examples, and the jurisdictions are very different,” said the Deputy Prosecutor General.
Speaking about assets within the country, Sadyrbekov said that in addition to money, shares and shares of large companies, including monopoly ones, were returned: hotels, markets, elite business centers, land.
“There are even railway lines that are strategically important for the country,” added the Deputy Prosecutor General.
