“Sunny Beach should become a city. Currently, there are more people in the resort and in Sveti Vlas than in Nessebar. So we will have a mayor and a town hall to take care of streets, infrastructure, parks and gardens. It’s chaos right now.”
This was announced by Veselin Nalbantov, who is a hotelier and deputy. chairman of the BHRA, in front of Labor.
“This product we make goes to Nessebar, and we are a state-owned, state-owned private enterprise. The paradox is that the money goes to the Municipality of Nessebar, and it has no right to dispose of it back – i.e. to manage the resort. To arrange and fix everything before the season”, explained Nalbantov.
According to him, this is how hundreds of levs are lost. If Sunny Beach had a town hall, before the tourists came, the streets and alleys would be in good condition, everything would be done according to rules and order would reign.
This year, hoteliers are worried again. This time the problem is the repair of Burgas airport. They strongly hope that the repairs will be completed on time – at the end of March.
While the renovation is in progress, however, reservations and tourists are lost, according to the hoteliers. Otherwise, the first tourists to Sunny Beach are expected to arrive in May.
