Hotel Stabbing Incident in Bergen: Young Man Rushed to Hospital in Critical Condition

Pop was at work at the reception at the Zander K Hotel in the center of Bergen when, at 01:00 on the night of Sunday, there were complaints about noise from a hotel room.

– I knocked on the door and told them to calm down, which they should do, says the night watchman to BA.

According to Pop, there should have been three men and one woman in the room. He says that five minutes later they came out of the lift at reception.

– One of them, the one I had just spoken to, was bleeding from the side. His friends said he had been stabbed.

– Kept losing consciousness

The hotel staff called an ambulance immediately.

– He was about to lose consciousness while sitting in reception, but the ambulance came and took him after around five minutes, says Pop.

The police received a report of the alleged stabbing at 0115.

– We arrived quickly, together with the ambulance. The victim, a young man aged around 20, was rushed to hospital. He was conscious when he was driven away, operation manager Steinar Hausvik in the West police district tells BA at 06:00.

– This happened inside a hotel, near the railway station in Bergen, Hausvik informs, and confirms that it is Zander K.

No one arrested

The police are waiting to find out when the injured man can give a statement.

– We have some witnesses that we are working on questioning, and a crime scene where we are now carrying out technical investigations. Currently, we do not have the circumstances clear about what happened, or exactly where it happened.

No one has yet been arrested in the case.

Night watchman Pop says that the incident was shocking, but that he himself was well looked after by colleagues.

– I am fine. I just hope the young man is doing well.
