Heat, wind, storms and waves will put 14 autonomous communities at risk this Tuesday on a day marked by significantly high temperatures in much of the country, except the Cantabrian area and the southern half of the Mediterranean area, with the possibility of some locally strong storms in the Catalan Pyrenees and intervals of strong wind in the Strait.
According to the prediction of the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET), the maximum temperatures in the country will be reached in Badajoz and Córdoba with 43ºC; Lleida and Ourense, with 42ºC; Cáceres, Ciudad Real, Seville, Toledo and Zaragoza with 41ºC; and Girona, Jaén, Logroño, Pamplona, Salamanca and Zamora, with 40ºC.
Specifically, the heat will activate the warnings in Almería, Cádiz, Granada, Burgos, León, Palencia, Segovia, Soria, Albacete, Cuenca, Ciudad Real, Guadalajara, A Coruña, Lugo, Pontevedra, Álava and Valencia, which will rise to important in Córdoba, Huelva, Jaén, Seville, Aragón, Ávila, Salamanca, Valladolid, Zamora, Toledo, Barcelona, Gerona, Lérida, Tarragona, Extremadura, Ourense, Madrid, Navarra, La Rioja.
In addition, Cádiz will be at risk due to wind and waves, while the storms will activate warnings in Barcelona, Girona and Lleida.
This Tuesday, cloudy intervals are expected in Galicia and the Cantabrian Sea, with slightly cloudy skies in general in the rest of the country, except for some cloudy intervals in the area of the Strait and the north of the Canary Islands.
There will also be some cloudiness in the afternoon in the interior of the northern half of the peninsula, with the possibility of some isolated shower or storm around the Cantabrian mountain range, north of the Iberian system, and more likely in the Pyrenees, without ruling out that it could be some locally strong in the Catalan Pyrenees.
There will be possible scattered morning fogs in the interior of Galicia and the Cantabrian Sea, and haze in the Canary Islands.
As for daytime temperatures, they will rise in the northwest third of the peninsula, and with few changes in the rest, while night temperatures will experience a rise in the western half of the peninsula. In the case of the Canary Islands, maximum temperatures will reach or exceed 32-34ºC locally on the southern and western slopes.
The winds will blow from the north in Galicia and the Cantabrian Sea, and from the east in the southeastern half of the peninsula and the Balearic Islands, with strong Levante intervals in the Strait, and variable weak winds in the rest.
