The staff’s comments made the victim even more dissatisfied
The netizen said: “After eating dim sum and drinking a few cups of tea, I noticed that there were many ants on the surface of the tea cup. Since they were very small, I thought they were broken tea leaves. Then I opened the teapot full of dead ants, there were two pots of tea, and finally I found that there was a bottle of water, and it was a shame to think that we might have eaten a dozen ants each.” What angered the victim was the response and treatment of the staff: “After we contacted the staff immediately, he just took the kettle away and put the teapot in his place, saying ‘this has been replaced’ without a single sorry apology”.
The victim contacted the Department of Food and Civil Supplies about the incident: “FDA staff said they visited the restaurant today and opened all stainless steel kettles and teapots and they found no insects”. Employees of the Department of Food and Civil Supplies said they had given verbal warnings and reminded restaurant workers to pay attention to hygiene, before suspending patrols and prosecution if found.
