Hot Summer Days in Hesse: Extreme Conditions Expected, Temperatures to Reach 33-36 Degrees

Offenbach (dpa / lhe) – People in Hesse are facing hot summer days. On Sunday the temperatures will rise to 33 to 36 degrees, as the German Weather Service (DWD) announced on Saturday. The day will start out sunny, with showers and thunderstorms possible in the afternoon. Local storms with squalls are possible according to the forecast. The meteorologists expect a particularly high heat load in the Odenwaldkreis, Rheingau-Taunus-Kreis, in the Waldeck-Frankenberg and Bergstraße districts and in the Darmstadt area. There, old people and people in need of care would face “extreme conditions”. A few thunderstorms are still possible on Monday night. It cools down to 19 to 16 degrees.

According to the DWD, the temperatures only drop slightly at the start of the week: on Monday there is a change from clouds and sun with maximum values ​​between 27 and 32 degrees, in the higher mountains between 24 and 27 degrees.
