NEW YORK — The summer heat will be felt in the New York City metropolitan area for the next few days, before possible storms arrive this weekend.
After a couple of days of storms in the New York area, foggy, hot and humid conditions arrive, although no heat warning is expected. Temperatures will be in the 90s Wednesday, but the heat index will make it feel stronger.
The combination of heat and humidity will not abate as night falls, adding another level of danger to this heat. The congestion will remain, making it feel like the 80s.
Additionally, a Poor Air Quality Alert has been issued until 11:00 p.m. Nassau and Suffolk counties.
