Hot People From My Teens: The new Tanamachi collection

The Mexican brand of moda urbana TANAMACHIpresented his most recent collection at the 14th floor of the Latin American Tower titled “Hot People From My Teens” thanks to the ingenuity of its creators: Toshi y I want to.

The collection consists of 30 looks inspired by the creators’ adolescencereferring to the generation that during 2005 – 2010 lived in a context of Mexico City.

This era was marked by memorable events such as the famous fight between Emos and Punks in the Glorieta de Insurgentesthe beginnings of the internet, pages like La Jalua, Ares, Messenger, Hi5 and others, giving rise to social networks.

As for the colors of the garments, blue and silver tones predominate, referring to the place where the parade took place: the Latin American Tower. A wide variety of clothing in pink and purple, inspired by the culture and fashion of the emos, an inspiration that Tanamachi took for winks of inspiration in his collection.

We could also see references to the hairstyles of those years: the straight fringes that fell over the forehead in the stuffed bullfighters.

The leggings could not be missing from this collection, however they were given the brand’s touch by including a strap to hold it to the heels and a giant bow.

The looks were complemented by makeup and hairstyles inspired by emos and punks, telling a unique story. In addition to characteristic elements of those years, such as clamshell cell phones, digital cameras, party glasses and the iconic paper shopping bags.
