After Turkish President Erdogan invited his Ukrainian and Russian counterparts, Vladimir Zelensky and Vladimir Putin, to hold joint telephone talks-conferences, Ukraine gave its prior consent.
A spokesman for Ukrainian President Sergei Nikiforov said Ukraine was ready to consider such a format of talks if Putin agreed, Ukraine’s Strana newspaper reported.
“I can’t say to what extent this is true – these agreements are between the presidents of Turkey and Russia. As for the position of the Ukrainian presidential office, if the Russian president gives his consent, we will also consider the proposal,” Nikiforov said.
The Kremlin has important news for Putin and Erdogan
So far, Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov has only confirmed the bilateral conversation between Putin and Erdogan.
