Vietnam arrest India 1-1 in the test match. This result makes the winning streak of The Golden Stars continue.

Vietnam originally planned to host a three-nation tournament, inviting India and Lebanon. However, Lebanon withdrew due to the situation in the Middle East which made it dangerous to fly to Vietnam.

This situation means that Vietnam will only have one test match during this week’s international break against India. The Golden Stars host India at the Thien Truong Stadium on Saturday (12/10).

The hosts were able to take the lead through Nguyen Hoang Duc in the 38th minute. The score remained 1-0 in favor of Vietnam until the end of the first half.

In the second half, Vietnam’s lead was lost after Farukh Choudhary got his name on the scoreboard in the 53rd minute. The game ended in a 1-1 draw.

Vietnam continue their winning streak due to this draw. They have never won in the last four games. Vietnam has always lost the last three games. They lost to Thailand 1-2, Russia 0-3, and Iraq 1-3.

The change of coach from Phillipe Troussier to Kim Sang-sik could not produce positive results for Vietnam. Vietnam’s last victory was when they beat the Philippines 3-2 under Troussier in the second round of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers last June.
