Numerous armed officers were standing by on the street. Ambulances and army vehicles also rushed to St-Laurent Boulevard. The emergency number would have been called from the building, with the announcement that a hostage situation was taking place. The police are still looking for the person responsible for this.

The authorities had cordoned off the area and urged people to stay away. Images from local TV stations show how dozens of people stood on the roof of the building of the French Ubisoft. The building was also cleared.
Ubisoft is best known for the games Assassin’s Creed and the annual Football Manager. The game developer’s headquarters are in the French city of Montreuil.
