The viewers of NRK Oslo and Viken got a cool surprise on Monday night.

If you want to believe the weather forecast from the broadcast, you should dress reasonably well with clothes if you take the trip to Moss on Tuesday.

On the weather forecast in the district broadcast to NRK Oslo and Viken on Monday at 19.45, it was on the screen, behind state meteorologist Siri Wiberg, that it would be a full 65 degrees below zero in Moss.

It is of course wrong, NRK Oslo and Viken write their websites, which also states that you can check the correct temperatures for the city of Østfold yr.no.

– It is a technical error, I take it for granted, says Eli Halvorsen, publishing manager at NRK Oslo Viken to Dagbladet.

The meteorologist on duty, Espen Biseth, at the Meteorological Institute, also expresses to Dagbladet that it would have been particularly sensational if the weather forecast was actually correct.

– It would have been a bit sensational if it was minus 65 degrees in Moss on Tuesday, but that is probably due to a technical error. I do not hope for the Mossings that this is true, but it is probably due to a technical error, which happens from time to time, says Biseth.

Happens wrong

However, this is not the first time that technical errors have occurred in weather forecasts.

Biseth explains that it can happen that incorrect temperatures are stated in the graphics on the weather reports on NRK, which is under the auspices of the Norwegian Meteorological Institute.

Former hostess on TV 2, Eli Kari Gjengedal, became almost invisible on her last broadcast in 2012, when you could only see Gjengedal’s head.
