Hossam Hassan, the coach of the Alexandria Federation, confirmed that Al-Ahly is able to bypass the Qatari team Al-Duhail and achieve a surprise in front of Bayern Munich in the FIFA Club World Cup, to be held in Qatar from 4 to 11 February.
Hossam Hassan said, in a phone statement to the “Al-Allaib” program on MBC Egypt on Friday morning, “Al-Ahly has a good list of players, and this tournament does not bear mistakes in formation or change.”
He added: “The coach should be a coach, and his role is not limited to setting the formation only, but also in his way of managing training and matches, his reading of the opponent, the changes, and how to end the match.”
He explained: “Al-Ahly’s strength is higher and stronger at the technical level, with my respect for the Qatari Al-Duhail, which includes senior professional players.”
He stressed, “The Egyptian fans in Qatar will make a big difference, and Al-Ahly is morally at the highest level and able to qualify for Bayern Munich in the semi-finals by 70% compared to 30% for Al-Duhail.”
And about the possible confrontation against Bayern Munich, the former Al-Ahly goal-scorer stressed: “The match with Bayern will be difficult, but football has surprises.”
“Look at Liverpool, who did not win in recent matches and between the teams with the weakest line of defense in the English Premier League, and suffered their first home defeat in the competition since 2017 after losing to Burnley,” he added.
Hassan Hassan concluded, “The match will stop on a surprise. Al-Ahly is able to achieve a positive result because it is always present in difficult situations and major tournaments.”
