Kassel (dpa / lhe) – The DRK-Kliniken Nordhessen gGmbH is to be restructured by way of insolvency proceedings. At the request of the new management, the competent insolvency judge at the Kassel district court ordered preliminary insolvency proceedings on Friday, said the lawyer Franz-Ludwig Danko, who was appointed as the preliminary insolvency administrator. Previously, an intended regular sale of the financially troubled clinics had failed.
“The bankruptcy application will not change anything for patients or referring physicians,” emphasized Danko. The services of all facilities of the DRK-Kliniken Nordhessen would continue to be provided in full and in the usual quality. The aim is to renovate the clinics, including maintaining as many jobs as possible.
According to the announcement, the economic situation of the clinics will be analyzed in detail over the next few days and weeks and the renovation options will be explored. An investor solution or a kind of comparison with the creditors via an insolvency plan are conceivable.
The DRK clinics in North Hesse are the second largest hospital in the Kassel region. Around 1,100 people work at the two locations in the city and district of Kassel. In addition to various specialist clinics and competence centers, the Red Cross Hospital has a central emergency room.
